Differential case worn at seal

Differential case worn at seal

My left side yoke had worn to the point the c-clip was gone and it wore into the side of the differential case.

What do I have for options? Has anyone repaired these cases?

Most of the time the seal will stay in ok, and it will cause no problem.

Thanks for the reply Wombvette, it has ground down to the point there is about only .250" of material left. I cant tap the seal in to hold. Any solutions?

Wow, A bad one.

Some good cleaning and epoxy, short of replacing it.

If the Yoke wore that much on the inside to allow it to wear that much on the outside I'd say that the Bearings have probably reached there share of Metal fillings to.

Thanks for the replies. I have ordered all new bearings, seals and ready to go but I am concerned about the seal not being able to "seat".

The epoxy has merit. Has there been any experience out there with a machined steel insert.
