Default Wierd electric stuff

Can anyone explain this? I have a mig welder tip in my fused alarm thing under the hood. If you take the tip out of the fuse holder the alarm will work and can be armed and disarmed. BUT, you can't start the car. It has no power when the key is in the run position. Now if I put the tip back in the holder the alarm doesn't work but the car will start fine. Kinda strange don't you guys think?

It sounds like the "fused alarm thing" is your factory alarm starter cut-off manual override which someone has permanently overridden with a piece of welding rod, or something of that nature. I suspect that your alarm sequencing module burned out and the owner couldn't locate the device so they looked in the owners manual and found the manual override and Bubba'ed it so they could drive it. Email me and I'll share with you what I know about the factory alarm system so you can bypass the sequencing module, and possibly allow the rest of the alarm system to work.
