switched power problem

switched power problem

I'm installing a carb with an electric choke. most guys suggest the yellow wire to the wipers as my switched power source. On my '76, the yellow is hot all the time, but the wipers don't work with the key off. What am I missing??

the 76 doesnt have a fuse box location marked IGN?

Yes, but I thought I'd try an easier location first. It's a real PITA to get at the fuse box with a clutch pedal in the way.

Try the pink going to the reverse lights,its just under throttle cable. 2 wire connector ,pink and green

Good idea. I replaced the backup switch a few years ago, so I know which wire you mean. Thanks.

Billsfan, Yes Sir; even with an automatic, with just the brake pedal it's a PITA for an old guy to twist down into. LOTS of LAUGHS. Have a great day. Gene
