Possibly then the statement should be made that GM never sold front rotors without the hub. As for the rears, dunno.

I have an original print '67 Corvette GM shop manual packed away. I should dig it out to see what instructions/cautions were given when rear wheel bearing assembly work was required. I know one owner who had new rear rotors installed in the late 70s and spent years chasing braking issues till they finally figured out his runout issues.

GM owns General Motors Holden in Australia and the local brake manufacturers have to make their products to the GMH standard. When supplying to GM USA, the quality has to be of at least the same standard as for the local cars.

They'd lose a valuable export contract if they cheaped out.
