I ordered a new power window motor from Wilcox and they sent me the wrong side. Stuff happens and not everyone is perfect all the time. I sent email on Friday but was on the road and did not get back with them until 8:00 pm or so on which one I had. Got home today and it was on the porch. I have not sent back the old yet the shipping label is in the box. This type of service is above and beyond so I just had to let everyone know this is what a quality vendors customer service is like.

I have always told my kids and employees its not making the mistake that gets people upset, its how you correct it that makes you a dog or a hero.

Sweet, making the mistake does get people upset because what they wanted arrived wrong & now they have to wait longer.
But you are right in the how you correct the mistake department.

Wow.. I apologize for the mistake Pete and I'm glad we got this handled quickly.

Sweet you are so right. Making a mistake is horrible, but its how you handle the mistake that can make . . . .

or break you!

I appreciate the patronage this forum has generated!

The whole left right thing blows my mind. I think that the same motor is used for different years and changes sides in there some where. In all the terminology that I have seen the drivers side would be left, but my 73 uses the motor marked with an R.

The mistake I can live with, I'm not perfect all the time. Service after the sale is what defines who I like to do business with and your reponse on this was excellent.

Once again I do not normally recommend businesses, but will tell everyone that price and service at Willcox is first rate.

Exact same thing happened to me with my '73. It was a month before I got around to changing it out, to find out it was the wrong side. Wilcox did not hesitate to fix the problem.

I wish I could say that I have had the the same great experience with Willcox customer service, however when I purchased a trailing arm for my 1973, they sent it to the wrong address.

It was supposed to go directly to the shop that is working on my car, but they sent it to me. I also happened to be out of town and it sat on my porch for three days (during a Cleveland March... which is basically winter) without me knowing it.

The solution they provided me was that I had to drive it the 50 miles to my resto shop, because it would take a week to get a new part shipped out, and they didn't even offer to refund my shipping costs (almost $40)...

youre correct pete, the window motor fits alot of other gm cars, camaro, monte carlo etc.but for gm to make them fit inside the vette door, they had to swap sides. L is for the rightside, R is for the drivers side. confusing but it works.

A+++ service and support from Wilcox. I'll be purchasing dash components from them after I rip out the old one. With so many a**holes in the Corvette world, it's nice to deal with people who take the time to listen to what your asking, and answer your questions.

Being such a long way away in Australia when orders get mixed up the distance, time differences etc always make the situation seem worse.

I have to say that Ernie and his team stepped up when there was a parts mix up and fixed it all up, even going to the extent of providing a part that was no longer available from his own supply.

Much appreciated for sure.

Also from someone overseas the Willcox site with its exact Overseas shipping calculator is fantastic. Your not at the whim of a supplier that may use USPS or fedex without asking you.

Helps to make you keep coming back.

Shipping is the big killer for our distance and the way the Willcox does it is excellent (Summit Racing is also good like that)
