Throttle cable adjustment
Is there any way to adjust the throttle cable on a '79. I installed an Edlebrock carb and the throttle cable could be a little shorter to give me wot with the pedal. It seems like I'm leaving a little on the table.

You're gonna want to get this corrected. Growing up year's ago messing with carb changes, linkage was alway's a problem. You can probably get by adjusting the cable clamp for now, but eventually it's going to involve some bracket welding to get it right.

You can also pull the cable from inside, take up the slack, and install a zip tie or spacer, simple and works well.
(cut the excess off zip tie of course)

What exactly is this picture of. Is it the throttle cable inside the car at the pedal. It doesn't look like mine at the carb. I will look tomorrow to see for myself. That's a great idea. Thanks

I did something like that on my 82 but with a small spacer thing you could buy for next to nothing. Car would not shift properly. Delay from 1 - 2 and 2 - 3 was unbelievable. Took it right out. Maybe a very narrow zip tie would have worked. Now with a 3.55 rear end up from 2.78 shifts fast but rpm's are much higher.

One reason I like the zip tie is the zip goes inside the black feral on the cable keeping the feral spread and in place and the zip never falls off.
The feral itself is split so it can be slid over the cable and into the throttle pedal lever when installing the cable.
The problem I've encountered with "some" spacers is they don't go inside the feral but sit on top and this sometimes allows the feral to come out of the lever, the feral gets sideways and then falls off the cable due to the split in it and you have no throttle.

Yes thats the inside. If you pull up on the gas pedal the little silver feral will expose itself.

Worked perfect
This worked for me. Went from ccc to Holley. Cable was at least ¼ to long. Thinking aftermarket might be a good idea as my motor mounts are perfect and I like things right. Because I have a 2004r cabling is very important. Not to mention Vet Vet runs like a .... well you get the idea. My 383 has its power back.
