Default 70 windshield placement question

Hi All,

I'm getting ready to install my windshield on the 70 conv. Here's my question. Is the bottom edge of the windshield setting against the rubber pad on the wiper park bracket or is there a space between the bracket and the windshield?

Thanks for any comments,

Ron

Setting on it and you can adjust it up or down.

You should have two small stoppers on each side of the car that are screwed to the metal of the area below the placing of where the windshield will rest. They are about 1-1/2" long x 3/4 wide x 1/16 thick with one rubber end for the windshield to stop and rest on. (Thats your stoppers and dry run it first to make sure your top molding going across covers the top of the glass)

use a little extra adhesive(ribbon or caulking-gun type) at the lower ouside corners, about 4 inches horizontally and vertically. i think that the glass made today is flared a little more that the original, and without extra adhesive, you may not get a complete seal.

Hi,
Here's one of the brackets LEW mentioned.
They really determine the up/down position of the windshield. I'm not sure just when they started to be used, but I believe 70 model year cars had them.
Regards,
Alan

Here's a picture.. it's the bracket on the right.

Hey Ron
Are you installing the windshield yourself or having it done?

Hi

Yes, I'll be installing the windshield by myself. It shouldn't be too hard of a job.
