I've used whatever I had left around that was probably going to be thrown away.
First one I did was with some 2 part Imron car paint that was left over,
4 in 1 epoxy , Rustoleum enamel , POR 15 gas tank sealer ,some 2 part garage floor paint that the neighbor gave me,the last one was leftover Rustoleum Hammered (brush type).
I've sorta tried to use something thick, tough and flexible and that liked rust. I've never tried any sprays like Rustoleum Hammered because I though it might run through too fast.
I'm thinking the paint goes through the pin holes and dries with a drip or mushroom on the outside of the tank, that drip can't be pulled back through with vacuum.
Oh and I never charged , it was always just something to try rather than pull the tank.
Hi,
This sounds like a good solution.
If you can see or feel the holes could you put some tape (duct?) over them on the outside of the tank to hold the liquid in long enough to set up?
Well done Roger!
Regards,
Alan
if you don't know what POR15 is get some and try it.
It is fantastic ? Paint/Epoxy ? works great for almost everything.
and it self levels, and does not leave brush marks at all ! Highly recommend !
it sounds like you justpulled the vacuum line from the tank and drissled it in. It is worth a try. I don't really want to pull the tank if I don't have too. Thanks for every ones input! I will report back when I have some results...
