Okay, update, called the body man that did my bodywork last year, told him what was concerning me, he gave me the number to an alignment shop. I called them, started describing the issue, and he finished my sentence for me, lol. He said "Yeah, I must have done a thousand of those fixes on Vettes and other cars over the years, bring in on in, we'll have it done in a day. Your front crossmember has flexed inward taking away your caster and camber adjustment." This guy seems to know exactly what to do, so, I'll drop the car off tomorrow morning. When I get it back I'll follow up here and let y'all know how it all works out. Thanks to everyone for the information and advice
Okay, just did an alignment, now all the shims are gone from both upper a arms. I understand this means I have cradle sag. Its an 82, btw. How is this corrected? Is this something that I can correct in my garage, or do I need to take it to a frame shop?
if your still on this forum i would like to know how you resolved this issue? I have a 73 with the same problem.
thank you
Shannon
I'm still here, just don't post often anymore, mostly read.
I took the car to an alignment shop and they used a frame machine to pull it back into spec. Took 3 hrs from the time I dropped it off until I picked it back up. Still fixed to this day with no further issues.

Get a speedirect front spreader bar for the front shock towers for about $120....one of the best upgrades you can do for $100 and will help stabilize the front shock towers leaning inwards.....Greatly helps stiffen the front cradle, aiding handling, steering response, ride, and squeaks.................
I suggest your try a Private Message... he may not see this for awhile otherwise.
I really dislike that photobucket phiasco.....
This was my first attempt to contact someone on this forum. I do not know the procedure at this time. Was the comment directed towards me?
thank you,
Shannon

Thank you for the reply.... i have my motor out there is a stack of shims on back upper control arm on right side and d wheel sits back roughly 1/2 inch in wheel well. i have an appointment with frame shop in 2 weeks so for now im trying to clean and inspect fame ect. The measurement between upper control arm towers is 26 1/8 with motor out. I would imagine it to be less with engine weight. I would like to know how to make sure the lower a arm frame mounts are straight? Is there a place to measure and or a certain distance from back bolt across to the other? The welds look suspect and believe i minor crack on the the side in cross member... The under side has been dented due to my own lack of knowledge 20 years ago as well.... any info is greatly appreciated
thank you,
Shannon
shannon1970 - yes, my apologies, I guess I should have "addressed" you by name. I quoted your statement so I was hoping you'd know it was addressing you. I'll try to remember to address folks in the future.

That part was not directed to you. He was commenting on the fact that Photobucket made some policy changes and he (and many other people) can no longer see the pics which are stored in photobucket servers.
But, everybody who does not see the pics should google "photobucket fix" and get a specific browser extension for their web browser which fixes the issue. For example I can see the pics just fine with Firefox + the extension. But I cannot see them with Safari as there is no fix for Safari, or at least there wasn't when I checked the last time.
