Default Timing marks

Is there a standard pattern to the timing marks above the balancer?? Mine does not have any numbers associated with the saw tooth, just lines.

The line with the hole or the big notch is 0*, then each tip is 4*. If your's is the type without the sawtooth, then the long lines are 4 and short is 2

There should be a "0" by the 0 degree mark and an "A" at one end of the scale which means that is the direction of 'advanced' timing.

Scrub the pointer lightly with some scotchbrite pads. I'll bet the numbers will pop right up.
