I have checked in previous posts if these can be rebuilt. Does anyone know if they can?
I have a 69 and the problem is if both inlet tubes are closed the shaft can still be moved in and out by hand without much effort.
Should there be much resistance because when there is vacuum the shaft moves but I can stop the shaft moving with very little force.

the rubber piece teh shaft comes thru could be split,,, that rubber piece is available, if needed... if not, teh diaphrams in teh can are bad...
Hi z 69,
The actuators can be rebuilt but the cost is close to the price of a reproduction.
You can try replacing the front plug; they have sometimes gotten dry over the years and may leak a bit.
Regards,
Alan

Which shape actuator do you have?
I think 68 maybe early 69 looked like soup cans, the later through my '72 looked like the headlight canisters....
