Just bought my first vette, 1973 coupe without the owners manual. It has the strap in the back compartment for the t tops. Is there an exact procedure for how the covered t tops are to be arranged & secured?
Quick clip to the front just above the console, and then to the left and right anchor mounts. The original security strap will have enough slack to reach these existing anchor mounts and secure your T-Roofs which should be placed in GM bags...
Hi M,
You asked about placement.
The floor space between the wheel wells isn't wide enough for the panels to be placed next to each other.... so they need to go on top of each other.
The owner's manual shows them placed with the bags' flaps facing forward.

Alan
Alan,
With the bag flaps facing forward should the tops be stacked with the outside facing up for both? I've had them strapped several ways & I'm concerned about scraching the exterior paint.
I stack mine all the time....usually the way to get the lowest profile. I have a 78 so I have more room than 77 and earlier cars.
In (softer homemade) bags, one paint side down on paint side up, slightly overlapping so the top one fits "inside" the other. Even stack my glass ones the same way. No pics, sorry, its hard to explain right.
Hi,
I have a terry-cloth towel that I slip in each bag against the painted side of the panel.
I put the first panel painted side up, and then the next panel painted side down.
You do need to be careful!
Regards,
Alan
