Just got my heads in yesterday and have a few questions.
1. I noticed a little flasing on some of the Exhast ports. Is it alright to remove this with a grinder?
2. I was told to use a sealeant on the rocker arm studs. Will permatex be ok for this?
3. Will my ARP head bolts work with the Alum. Heads? Corosion? (Steel/Alum)
4. Anything Else I might need to know before, during or after I put these on?
1. IMO OK to remove excess flashing only, don't alter the port wall contour/size
2. Permatex OK.
3. Steel bolts OK. Not aware of any alternative anyway ... besides titanium or the like.
4. Follow torque sequence & specs. Use head gasket that won't score head to block surface. Apply small amount of lube under bolt heads to avoid scoring head surface and to obtain accurate torque reading. I think ARP bolts are washerless.
Thanks for the replies. I was thinking of using a fine file to remove the flashing and be real careful. The ARP bolts that I have do have a washer. I also have to use antiseize on anthing that screws into the heads also correct? :yesnod:
Thanks again. Maybe I can get pictures by monday. They sure do look
Use a copper crush ring head gasket for aluminum heads. I put thread sealer on every head bolt or stud. Invest in ARP header studs and install them with anti-seize. Never take a chance on stripping out a threaded hole.
Thanks for the heads up on the gasket. Apperently the heads require a  Performance Gasket  for both the heads and intake. Call my supplier and the researched and laid out the required gaskets. Still on for tomorrow..
I think the rocker arm stud torque is around 40 to 45 foot pounds.
I had Edlelbrock aluminum heads, and I blended and smoothed out the exhaust port openings, and blended the intake openings. They were CNC'd in only part of the way. Use washers under the head bolts, and use a sealer on them. Also, check the position of the guide plates after tightening the rocker studs.
