if thats the ground cable it goes through the bottom of the batery box and bolts on the back side of the crossmember just in front of the box, its the crossmember that the snout of the diff bolts to, if its the engine ground strap then it bolts to underside of pass side engine mount (on frame) to lower bolt beside fuel pump
i have the rear battery one so i think it must be the fuel pump one.
does it bolt to the inside of the engine mount?
I have a photo of my fuel pump/filter when i took it off since i think it was somewhat unique and wanted to make sure I could get it back together.
and I don't see the cable on the outside.... although I also don't see it on the left bolt to the fuel pump either..
The "rear battery" (which we all have, BTW), has a ground strap that runs from the battery negative terminal to the frame just below the battery box. That is the ground referred to in the prior post.
As far as I know, there are only two 4 awg ground lines on a C3: the one at the battery box and the one that runs from the right motor mount to the starter bracket at the engine block. It serves as the main ground for the starter and the engine.
that is the frame to motor gnd. Installed near the starter.
It supplys engine gnd. any engine Block gnd. point is ok.
It is mostly there to supply gnd for the stating motor and its current draw.
I have the rear battery one hooked up.
the #1 body mount hooked up.
I can't do the trans crossmember one as I don't have an exhaust and it looks like it hooks up right to the U clamp of the exhaust.
Anyone have pictures for the engine ground?
I'm much better visually. I think i'll bolt it to the engine mount hole of the frame. and then just to some random bolt on the block?

Would this ground keep the car from starting?
That will work fine it only needs to touch block and frame. And no this ground wont keep car from starting.
On mine I have one that bolts to the frame at the passenger side motor mount and runs underneath and attaches to a bolt on the engine side of the motor mount to bridge the gap across the insulator part of the mount.
