I'll get some during pics during the painting process. It doesn't look like much, I've been working on the drivetrain and suspension. Should be finished in a couple of months.

We chatted about a year ago if you remember. I appreciate your input. The car is turning out exactly as planned. I was amazed at the mileage, and as you say a streetable car with that much power....it's a testament to the abilities of Mark Jones.

THE ANSWER IS NO, SO YOU HAVE COMPLETELY LIED AND MADE UP YOUR STATEMENTS......

We are not some complete novice that know nothing, we have been dealing with engines for years, and it was the first time and last time I will ever buy an engine long distance....... Even when we wanted to open the motor up and see what was wrong, Vortecpro cried bloody murder and threaten to void the warranty every time.....

You are only repeating what Mark told you and and Mark Jones never saw the motor because he did not want it back... He crawfished hard.... I have proof.......

The engine leaked coolant out of the freeze plugs from possible core shift( not properly csonic checking) and poor craftmanship.... You made up excuse is ludacris.... When I told Vortecpro it was leaking, his exact word were "put some alumiseal on it" ...lol $5800 engine leaking after 1 month, no track time.... Then tell them about the used carb he sold me with the chipped Bowl.... Or the Dizzy that was not setup correctly or tuned....... Tell them about the Dyno sheets, when he called me and said "I did not put your dyno sheets in the crate, I can mail them to you" I said well man I really wanted my sheets, then he said I will fax them over and mail them to you..." He faxed one sheet that was coppied and pasted numbers, no time, no real uncorrected numbers on it only 1 sheet when it should have been at least 3-4 sheets.. So I called him and said " Man I need a better version than this, and he said I will mail them to you"... I never got them.....

Then I was suppose to get Crane Golds rockers, He put some knock offs on their...... I asked him about that, another excuse.......

Alan you yourself blew a headgasket on your motor and then accepted the blame....lol Then you burned up the top of your pistons.... Now funny samething happen to Sinster too... and other things have happend.... But what happend is the mods often delete the bad stuff on TC so people never know the truth.... I have never used any alias..... You sign in here as Ajrothm and Shouldn't be here on TC..... So I guess you have an alias? I have two names I have ever used Shonuff and Bozzhawg.... and thats it on the web..... they can check the IP's I don't troll.....

Mark Jones aka Vortecpro shill posts and tries to sell engines on the web, but the interesting thing is he does not and will not pay to be a sponsor or vendor on any site..... Why? because he will have to be held responsible to the rules and guidelines of the Autoforum or forum rules..... If he wants to sell engines here, all he has to do is call AutoGuide.com or Corvettes Forum vendor sales team and it can be done, but after 4 years of trying to sell engines on Auto forum sites he will not pay? I wonder why? He is not a sponsor on any site, but he post his dynos all over these sites to phish for business. And if you follow these sites it is the same guys responding everytime

All I got to say is check him out via the BBB, EL Paso County Clerk, Colorado State, and you will find nothing.. This guys sells his engines off a cellphone with no landline phone..... All I am saying is do your homework and find out who these guys really are before you buy an engine..... If you buy an engine long distance and something goes wrong are you going to ship a 650lb engine back across the country? In 95% of the cases an out of state builder will not take responsiblity..... NO MAN HAS EVER BUILT ANYTHING PERFECT.... AND YOU ARE FOOLISH TO BELIEVE THAT ANYTHING MAN MADE WILL BE PERFECT EVERYTIME...... It is very foolish to think so......

My question is, if he is such a great builder and great business, why did I not recieve my real dyno sheets? Why did I not recieve a written reciept... And when I asked him for a written reciept, he said "He does not give them out" but he told me this after I got the motor...... Why does he not provide a full blueprint of the tolerances, measurements of the motor.....

Alan quick question for you... did you recieve a written reciept? Did you recieve a written blueprint of the tolerances of your motor?

this is real talk Mods, you must protect your members from Shill Posting and guys trying to sell stuff on here without paying to be a vendor..... Guys are allowed to post and recomend guys for services, but when something goes wrong, then the mods are like settle that outside the forum and the negative or truth comments end up getting deleted.. So the system works for the sellers whether they are good or bad..... and that is the loop hole Vortecpro and others are captializing on selling products in interent forums ...

I got a motor from mark. Same story, never received the dyno paperwork, still going on years of asking. Calling him he puts you down when you have a question. Worse of all the rear main leaked from day one. Still leaking, but I'm going to sell the engine and build my own.

I read all the forums and went with mark because his reputation seemed great. But the motor cost more than advertised, you have to buy carb and distributor, and after purchase service is bad. I was quoted a hp rating on my motor, but never given dyno sheets, and I know I'm 100 hp off what was quoted.

My fault, lesson learned, cost me 6k, but I'll build my next one. Maybe mark builds great motors, he may, but mine was not.

Hmmm. That’s weird. My engine was 9 years old, 25k hard miles, and never leaked a drop, still ran in the 10s..Drove the car all over the US with it...twice...

Recently refreshened it, it looked GREAT inside considering the abuse, rings/bearings/valvetrain only.....fresh show quality paint on the motor, and it still doesn’t leak a drop. I was there when Mark dynoed it, handed me about 20 pulls worth of dyno sheets. I took it home, slapped it in the car and ran the fastest mph it has ever ran and in worse air.

I can’t complain a bit about Mark’s engines. That’s the only guy I’ll ever get BBCs from.

I've had my 496 Vortecpro for 5 years now and haven't had any problems with it. The complaints about Mark seem odd to me because he practically required me to be there for the dyno pulls on my engine and gave me the printout sheets when I left. I've had the car chassis dynoed after that, had 2 corvette shops drive and work on the car and a local racing shop work on and drive the car. All have agreed the car is brutally fast for a street car, so it is performing as advertised. Mark charged me the price he advertised.

I see that this is your first post? This is a 5-year-old thread. If you are asking for dyno sheets for years, my guess is you will never get them.

I've got a VortecPro similar to your engine. I see you are running an air cleaner with a chrome top. When my car was chassis dynoed they picked up an extra 34 hp by using a K&N air cleaner so it could breathe from the top. I have an L88 style hood on mine, and I think I read on one of your posts that you have a really tall scoop on your hood. The lack of clearance was killing the air flow to my engine. I'm guessing you went through this whole scenario because I know how thorough you are. I like the look of the chrome air cleaner but in my case it costs too much horsepower.

I see that your car weighs 3700 lbs.? Is that with you in it? I weighed mine yesterday without me in it and it came in at 3320 lbs.

Your only here for one reason and that's to whine little a school girl.

I can only guess the reason Mark may or may not give dyno sheets is due to the elevation of his shop in Colorado. A dyno at that elevation in July will NOT show the same numbers as a dyno at sea level in January. From what I've read track results (e.t. and mph) back up his claims.

You are answering a post from 5 years ago in a thread from 8 years ago. The majority of this thread belongs in Transaction Feedback anyway.
