Headlight buckets sink down when car is running
My headlight buckets sink down a little bit when I start my car up. Obviously the vacuum is pulling them down.....Is there some kind of "stop" that I can adjust to keep these from happening that I'm not seeing? When engine is off buckets are level with front surround.
I just replaced all the seals for the actuators recently.
Thanks,
Ryan

There is a 'stop' for the downward motion of the headlights. All of that mechanism and the adjustments for it are shown in the A.I.M. for that year (it's probably the same for all C3 years).

Yeah so far that's what I have set with engine off and everything looks fine until I start the car. Didn't know if there was possibly something else I'm missing that could control this? The stop shouldn't allow it to go any further no matter what so I don't see how this is happening.
Is it possible something is worn that is cause level of the door to change w/engine running and off?

I'll bet if you push on them with the car off, they go down. You probably need to adjust the stops more. I believe they are on both sides of each headlight. Either that or your frame is bending... (not really)

The adjustment that is there under the hinge and springs should do it. Adjust with the engine running. Most of the time this adjuster is frozen up because it goes through pot metal, and is almost impossible to get freed up.

Hi,
I believe the 'adjustment screw' in the center of the elbow (where the 4 small springs attach) controls the DOWN position.
The 'stop screw and rubber bumper' (on the long metal arm that fastens to the outside end of the door itself), controls the UP position.
This picture shows the bottom and some of the threads of the screw (silver) right above the plastic headlight warning switch.
Regards,
Alan

Thank yall for the responses.
I aligned them when it got back from paint. I'll try adjusting them with the car running this weekend. I'm hoping they don't do the opposite and raise up a little when I shut the engine of!
