Ok, I have fluid leaking under my car, actually TWO of them! haha!
I have identified the fluid as break fluid and coolant.
But the thing that has me puzzled is, the location of which its leaking form.
The break fluid is kind of in the middle of the car. My guess is that a line has a hole in it, but what really puzzled me is that my fluid isnt low. My breaks do however feel spoungy.
The coolant? This has got me good. Its comming down from the transmition. I presume that its leaking from somewhere and dripping down off of the transmition.
How have you determined each type of fluid? Transmission fluid is red, coolant is usually green, used motor oil is brown, and brake fluid...well, it makes a good paint stripper! :smash:
I have determined the fluids becasuse the one was green and obviously antifreeze, the other was the same breakfluid that I just put in, haha!
Im thinking maybe a gasket might of rotted away and caused the antifreeze leak, or heck maybe its just a hose somewhere I cant see. Hrm... I wish I had a better garage, with a lift! Its hard to work on a car that sits 4 inches off of the ground with nothing but a jack.
How much would a cooling system pressure tester cost? We do have ramps, but I prefer the jack and jack stands, dont know why? I just do. :) We have lots and lots of tools, but no cooling system pressure tester! Could always use to get one!
ok, you are adding brake fluid and seeing the same stuff under the car in the middle of the car..... middle middle? or middle front? Not doubting you... but do you have power steering? Power brakes? I guess I would stick my head under the car and have somebody pump the brakes for starters. MJ
