I was just looking through motorworks catalog, and i saw that they have is a 1975 tachometer repair kit. says use your own needle and face. will this work to convert my 1970 over to electrical tach. Has any one else seen this ?
Check out my 2 threads about this process as I converted my '71 mechanical to an HEI electronic tach here and here.
Hopefully it may help if you decide to do it yourself. Also, don't forget to buy a tach filter. I bought my new board from Willcox and it's been working great after my conversion.

If it's the 602-779 kit that I just looked up, then no, it won't work. The kit just includes the circuit board. You have to get the tach needle driver also, which is the small can-shaped object in their picture. The best way to convert your tach is to buy a 75-up tach and swap your tach face onto it. The needles are also counter-wieghted differently so you have to use an electric tach needle.

If you want to convert to a Fuel Injection system like FAST, they require that you use a different distributor, they don't have a mechanical tach drive.
