My turn signal flashers seem to be busted. It turns on but wont flash or make the little noise. I replaced the flasher fuse by the passenger side panel and still nothing. Any ideas? Everything lights up. Just wont blink or flash like turn signals are supposed to. The triangle shaped lights in the dash light up when the turn signals are activated as do the exterior turn signals, they just wont make the 'clicking' noise and no flashing or blinking of the lights.
Make sure the turn signal fuse is good. I had the same issue awhile back and replaced the fuse, located behind the passenger side kick panel. If all lights come on the bulbs and ground should be good.
I don't know how to check if its good. So I replaced the fuse and still same problem. Everything lights up. It just wont blink or flash like turn signals are supposed to. I don't know why it wont flash. It just stays on.
I'm having a similar problem, but just on one side. The right turn signal doesn't flash. Flashers work. But on the right side, inside the triangle light lights up, but outside it doesn't flash. The brake light also doesn't work. I've changed the bulb. The front turn signal on the right side works.
In my '77 vette the turn signal fuse was under the dash in the passenger side, its like a piece of a cylinder and it was that one part that seemed to fix my flashers. With the busted fuse it was just constantly on, with the replaced new fuse (about $7 at autozone) they were flashing perfectly. The fuse for the emergency lights is under the center console on the passenger side. That's about all I know and only because me and my friend were messing around pulling stuff out. Hope it helps.
If the signal lights work when the turn signal arm is placed in R or L position, but it won't blink, the problem is the flasher unit. That is mounted to the back side of the passenger's dash pad, near the lower/right corner of that pad. It fits in a little spring clip, so you can feel for it and just pull the flasher unit (and wire/connector) out of the clip, then remove it to replace the unit.
For a car with a flasher that works for one direction, but not the other, a bulb on that non-flashing side is bad or not making good connection.
