Can i get more horsepower with new high performance plugs, wires and distributor cap? Are there any other simple ways to increase horsepower without a major overhaul?

Horsepower would come from 36 degrees at 2800RPMs.
The rest just lets you maximize what you already have.

You will only increase HP with that ignition "stuff" IF your present ignition system is not working properly. If you don't get ignition miss problems during WOT operation, then NO changing that stuff won't help.

As mentioned, the only FREE HP increase is from recurving your distributor for 'performance', rather than for best emissions, lowest warranty costs, etc. that GM wanted for you.

The whizziest ignition parts you can buy will only make an improvement if there is a major problem now.Save your money and just buy good quality replacement parts if the old stuff is worn out.
