This topic has come up before, so I thought I'd share my experience. I wanted to move my alternator to the passenger's side for a few different reasons. There was plenty of room, and I can set timing and get to the power steering pump much easier. I got the brackets from Alan Grove Components. They come bare steel and I had a friend powder coat them. I had two minor issues. The first is that I had to put my short valve covers back on the engine. With the tall valve covers, the alternator had to be rotated so far away from the engine that it hit the outer edge of the hood. So instead of modifying the hood, I decided to put the short valve covers on, and that solved the problem. Second, I upgraded the alternator to a 12SI at the same time. The pulley on the 12SI was very slightly making contact with the alternator bracket. So I just removed a bit of material from the outer edge of the pulley and it works fine. Overall, I am very pleased with the final product. Enjoy.
This kit is for SBC. My camel hump heads do not have accessory bolt holes. This kit didn't need them. I did modify the tensioner bracket to accommodate my tall valve covers. No thrown belt when shifting at 7 grand.

Can this bracket be flipped to mount the alternator on the drivers side of a SBC?
I have the opposite problem. I need the passenger side for AC.

I welded up an aluminum bracket and moved the alternator over to the right on my '69. I got tired of the hassle getting to the p/s pump, and the engine compartment always looked off-balanced with the alternator and p/s pump on the left, and nothing on the right (non-a/c car).
The brackets are anodized and the bolts are stainless.
However, i ran a short groundlead directly from the alternator and down to the enginemount (solid).
Has been working OK this summer.

My brackets are anodized also and the alternator wouldn't charge. Bad ground so I had to run a separate ground.
Buddy of mine explained that anodizing is a type of oxidation and will prevent grounding.
Get a VOM meter-disconnect battery... put it on resistance then touch one lead on the Alt case and then to frame (bolt- along as it's not painted)- It should read less than .1 ohm- Then touch the negative terminal cable at the battery (it's disconnected-right!) and touch the other lead to alt case- less than .1ohm- you are good to go!!!
My alt- a mini Denso as well- has been moved to the pass side as well-
