The cam is going to make a big gain. There is not enough info. like which heads, intake, Holley & exhaust like headers. So about 300HP+ w/ the orig. info. posted.
Hi CS71,
Since you're a new member, WELCOME!!!
As you see it's pretty fruitless to try to guess h.p gain from just a list of parts.
I'd enjoy seeing some picures of your 71 since I'm a 71 fan!
Regards,
Alan
You didn't mention that you were changing the heads. And, if you don't, there's no reason to do all that other "stuff" you listed above. Putting a high-lift cam in an engine...without changing the heads...is like putting a high volume water pump into a system without increasing the size of the line out of the pump!! It makes no sense to do such a thing.
Heads and [compatible] cam change will make the biggest HP change to your engine. Then you need to open up the exhaust with duals, and headers, if you have the funds. You can gain a bit more with an intake manifold; but changing the carb will make no HP improvement. The rest of the stuff you list is "nice to have", but won't really impact engine power unless your present ignition system is faulty.
