We recently inherited my Brother in laws 77 corvette. It is black. He had one of those bras on the front end and when I removed it there are some fine rub marks on the paint. Any suggestions on best way to remove them? This car only has 7800 original miles on it, and I want to get the paint in the front a shiny as the rest of the car.
That depends on whether the paint is rubbed completely off, or not. If not, then you can use rubbing compound and/or polishing compound to get rid of scuffs/scrapes.
Hi c3,
Since your car still has acrylic lacquer on it you might want to try some Meguiar's Swirl Remover. Many auto stores carry Meguiar's products.
I use it on my acrylic lacquer because it's a VERY fine gritted compound, so if you apply it by hand it's pretty difficult to get into trouble with it.
It would be great to see some pictures of your LOW mileage 77.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
