Trim Ring Repair
Hi, Can anyone tell me if there are places to get curb scratches repaired on origonal stainless 8" rings. I have about a dozen rings with various amounts of damage .
I would like to have an origonal set 4 my 71.

Hi,
I believe part of the problem with having rings repaired is that often the area that needs attention is on the flat surface which has the clip retainer behind it. If access is needed to the back-side of that surface, the ring needs to be un-crimped, and the clip retainer removed.
So... depending on what rings you're interested in, early production, later production, or service replacement, you might be better off seeking excellent production, or NOS rings, depending on their cost compared to the repaired rings cost.
Another issue is that the rings were flash chromed over the stainless steel. VERY few shops are prepared to chrome plate stainless steel.
Production line rings in excellant condition have gotten seriously expensive $$$$.
