Hello, heres my plan for a street driven 79 Vette 355 auto 2200 stall 355 gears Super Comps, duals, RHS Pro Action 180cc flow 240cfm, Lunati 60103 aprox intake 228 489 lift 230 500 lift exhaust tweaked L82 Qjet. Heres my question, for an intake can I use my L82 aluminum or a Edelbrock 2101 I have both? From what I read I am not interested in the RPM intake. Thank you, Al

Yeah, man, why not the rpm intake? Your engine sounds like the perfect candidate. Wait, does Edelbrock make an rpm intake with a spreadbore pattern?
Comments on the 2101 Performer sounded like guys were talking about different intakes. I looked into it & got some info. for you guys.
Early or 1st 2101 & Action+ & later stock intakes are similar in appearance regarding runner shape. The Action+ was a little better than the 1st 2101.
Best is the (2nd) 2101 which is similar to Chevy's bow tie intake. Chevy has said it is as good as the high rise (LT-1). Chevy's bow tie logo & Edelbrock logo are behind the thermostat housing & not on the runner.
3rd current
Confirmation from Edelbrock Tech on 2101 "There were three official versions, ... The early versions weren't necessarily 'better,' but they were tuned for better top end performance while our current generation produces more street friendly low end torque."
Yeah - I have an RPM spreadbore intake, and have a Holley DP on it now.
Every intake shootout I have read about puts the RPM in the top tier of intakes, with the RPM Air-Gap performing the overall best. The take home message was the RPM-AG made great torque and had the top end equal to many of the single planes.
Curious to know why the decision to avoid the RPM.
Thank you all for your info, from what I have read the RPM intake is for higher rpms. I am looking for the best street performance without modifications to fuel lines and cables and looking to stay with a stock appearance. Anyone have a street performance Vette with 350 -400hp with a 2101 and I am trying to find out if anyones using to factory L82 aluminum intakes. Thanks.
With 180 heads, a high-flow dual plane is the bare minimum The RPM is fine - it's taller and with better runners, a far better match for your setup than the Performer.

With the 4spd,an open plenum manifold will work very well without choking the air the carb needs to function properly,, even a 2101 Performer can make 400 hp with good heads and a hydraulic cam.
