washer pump
can anyone help with how the washer pump works on 1970? mine will act like it wants to pump but I have to push on the rod that engages the pump to go up and down and after it cycles it shuts down ok but every time I want to get it to go I have to push arm to engage. ????

Recently I had a similar problem with the pump on my 71. The coil MW mentions wasn't activating because I had a poor ground connection between the pump coil, (dark blue wire), and the pump part of the wiper switch in the dash (dark blue wire).
Worth a check?

.....Roger steered my non-electrical brain in the right direction.
