1970 Steering Box Seal
I have an oil leak from the bottom of my steering box in my '70 roadster. I removed the pitman arm, and got the the old lip seal out (in several pieces). The rubber was hard, so not surprised it had started leaking.
As the old one was mostly destroyed in the removal, I couldn't measure it or use it as a sample. Does anybody know the part number for an aftermarket replacement seal. I'm they must be available from bearing/seal supply shops.
Has anyone done this job before?
Thanks for your help.

It is still available from GM dealers. GM list is price is $20.79. GMPartsDirect has them for $12.21 plus shipping.
You might be able to find a local house that might be able to cross reference the GM part number to something that they carry.
Otherwise you could use a supporting vendor like Zip or Wilcox. I am sure that they would have the seal.
