Default Heater cable adjustment

The small door at the heater core that regulates the heat into the cabin of my '75 C3 roadster does not close completely even though the control in the car is in the full off position. This car has no air conditioning. How do I adjust the control cable so the door will fully close?

This is an easy fix, if you look towards the two ends of the cable, you will notice a clamp at each end, lossen the clamps with the cable attached to the door and adjustment lever.
Move the door to the closed position, tighten both clamps and you're done!
Make sure the door moves easily, there is a lot of drag due to the design.

You might put a dab of white lithium grease on any moving parts while you're in there. (cable wire, too)

there's an adjustment "nut" in about the middle of the control cable that shortens/lengthens the sheath. i thought that was the proper method.

many of us add shut off valves to the heater core to stop the flow of hot water. its just one more way of keeping the inside cool.
