It is about 3000 miles across the United states. So Some of round trips were about 6000 miles. On some vacations I went about 2000 miles in one day. I had 50K miles and my motor pretty hot rodded in the first three years and my rear end went out. I don't drive my old Vette much any more so it has only 174,000 on th OD.

I drove to Alaska a couple of times. That is 10,000 mile round trip. My AWD SUV had 24,000 at one year old.

I've driven all over Europe

I noticed that. About 60mph x 8 hours = 480 miles is my limit. And that assumes no construction slow-downs.

The interstates didn't have allot of construction 20+ years ago and tickets didn't bother me. That trip 2000 miles was from Las vegas to chicago I got two tickets three hours apart for going over 100 on I- 70 The worst ticket I've ever got was near 100 mph over the posted 55 mph It was actually 152 mph. Tickets used to be a lot less in the western states. Just pay the fine on time

You have to remember I live in Nevada and way back there were no speed limits. We never thought anything in high school to just drive 100 of miles away to some lake at 120 mph. So I felt grand fathered in even though they forced a national speed limit on us. Then Nevada had a no points system so it was no big deal to drive fast.

Mike Ward. Canada Sucks when it comes to speeding. One of those camera/radar things got me and sent me a ticket for 200 kph or something in BC. It was a big fine. I told them no thanks..... I just won't come back to Canada for awhile!

I use 85W-140 Valvoline syn power. I can't say that I swear by it because you would have to do back to back testing under the same conditions with a Dino gear oil. I do know that my 20 year old 4.11 richmond ring and pinion were still looking brand new. My custom hardened yokes looked brand new. My Tom's Stage 8 posi unit was so physically warn out that it went in the garbage. It was only 4-5 years old. I rebuilt my rear end with 3.55 gears and drilled for a drain plug.
Can you post the link where GRT1999 is describing the rear end rebuild?

Thanks, Günther

Gary GRT1999 sent me the link to the rear end rebuild that he does with all the pictures. I have it all printed out and in a binder at work.
