Youll like the Centerforce DF clutch, its real easy on parts and isnt "grabby". Leave the stick, anyone can run an auto and time well.
That was going to be my suggestion too. I have one in the Z28. It has a light pedal, is smooth, and has taken everything I've thrown at it for many years. By the way, congrats on hitting 11's on your first time out- well done kid!
went to online DA Calculator for Lebanon Valley Dragway, NY
Elevation = 603'
temp= 63 deg
barometric pressure = 29.35 in Hg
relative humidty = 54%
Density Altitude: 1800 feet
Relative Density: 94.84 %
Damn that DA isnt as good as I thought it would be with the temps..... 1800'... not BAD but.... not really that good either... I thought you N Easterners got all the good air up there...( negative DA).... That means your 115 mph trap would be around 117 maybe even 118 mph in 0' DA, with no other changes...
You still have more in it.... keep plugging at it...
I called Hyatt today and he was really cool, he talked to me for about 10min just about my set-up and suggested using a centerforce dual friction clutch with a billet steel flywheel around 25lb. He said it should hold up with my power level and will have good street manners as well. He said he could set me up with a full Racing clutch but he said i probably wont like it with my set-up. I'm looking at flywheels now; 168tooth v 153tooth and Hays, Ram, or centerforce.
Tim will take care of you and is just a class act. He's available to help you with tuning and setup which is good stuff to have. He builds clutches for all the big names in serious drag racing and works all the NHRA events.
I used a Centerforce for a long time. I took everything I threw at it with my old 427 running low 11's@123....and then held the first version of the 540 when it was in the low 700's HP range. Definitely a great clutch for the $$$.
I was just trying to set you up for *future mods* that always seem to come!
GREAT times, as I recall you know GTR1999 at least I hope you do. The 60 Ft times are very good! I hope you plan on giving the new clutch a chance to break-in before doing high RPM launches on sticky tires. I would give it a good 500-1000 mile break-in to allow the disc a chance of a decent life. If you don't it probably won't last long. You might also conside a dual disc clutch even Centerforce is making them now, with the added torque from the boost, a dual disc set-up will give you a bigger margin for error.
Nice run!!Why is it so empty at the track?Was it a private club run?I might be interested in going I live in Enfield.Test and Tunes there on Wed nights get just a bit to crazy for me.
Are you running a boost referenced fuel regulator? Aeromotive has a good one.
I run a aeromotive pressure reg but its not boost referenced. I talked to a tech guy at aeromotive and Patrick from Pro-systems who built my carb and they both said I didnt need to run boost referenced with my set up because I only make 5-6psi of boost. If i was running a centrifugal supercharger with more boost or larger roots blower then boost referencing the fuel reg would be the way to go. My problem is that I run stock 3/8" fuel feed lines with a 110gph mech pump, its not keeping up.
Damn nice runs with a stick and that Ramedi 12 Bolt sure helps with that kind of high rpm clutch dump.
thanks man!
Ya, the Ramadei 12 bolt really holds up to my hard driving style. I need to beef up the rest of the drive train up to match it. The 275/60/15 Mickey Thompson Drag radials hook up great at the strip so the clutch is taking a beating.

GTR1999 is my father. Best 60ft was 1.75, i had a few 1.8-1.85 because the car felt like it hooked hard off line and then clutch would slip a little bit and then grab hard again. I ordered the Centerforce dual friction 11" clutch and a Billet steel 30lb flywheel. Parts should be in tuesday and I'll install them tuesday night or wednesday. I'm going to try and drive it as much as possible for 4-5 days with new clutch and try and break it in. Then i'm make decision to go racing if everything goes correctly.

It was a track rental for a car club from Ct, cost $70 to run. There were only 50 cars signed for racing so the place was empty and we had all day to run. I could have made 10-15 passes if i wanted too. My little blower gets hot quick so I was waiting 45min-1hr between runs. Once the clutch started getting worse i stopped racing and sat and watched for few hours and then went home early.
I went up on wednesday nights a few times with my last corvette, theres always 200-300+ cars and you usually only get 2-3 runs if you're lucky. Next weekend on sunday 10/30 there is an open test/tune and its the last day of racing for the year, cost $35 to run.

The next track near me is Englishtown NJ. The track is suppose to be better and 178ft above sea level v. 603ft at Lebanon Valley NY. A few guys told me they usually run better ETs at Englishtown. Season is almost over but next spring I'll try and get to Englishtown Raceway Park.
