How does your power steering line up with the A arm, and which pulley are you using? Does a smaller pulley effect the stock LS 3 power steering pump. I'm running the stock power assist system. Thanks.

I'm just using a stock LS1 P/S unit? Maybe you were thinking of Gordon's LS3 swap?

Wanted to update this thread, with pics to follow soon. Things are coming along really well. I have all wiring run, and the PSI harness completely connected. Was able to mount the fuse/relay center under the dash on the passenger side, and also mount the relays for the fans there as well.

I also modified the F-body radiator and E-fans that I got with my engine and trans to fit the stock radiator support. I'm pretty pleased with it, except for the fact that my radiator support is kind of in rough shape to begin with. The radiator hoses line up with the motor like a thing of beauty, and the line to connect to the steam tubes is already in place. I've just got to install the temp sending unit in the upper radiator hose (got an autometer piece that goes in the hose with a fitting for the stock sender), and I'll be finished there.

I'm getting close to being ready to fire. I ordered a set of F-body headers to use as a temporary exhaust system until I can get these sidemount headers worked out. I also need to get my power steering lines fabbed up. I ordered some parts for my air intake setup as well. Still need to bleed clutch, and download the tune off the stock PCM with HPtuners so I can modify the tune to delete VATS, AIR, EGR, rear O2s, etc. Then put the steering column back in, hook up the battery, and turn the key and hope for noise.

Will update with pics when I get back in town this weekend.

Nice to hear that things are going well for you.

Can you detail post the fit of the F body headers? Some say they will not fit, and
some say they will, with a little massaging. I would love to see what you come up
with, and with photo's

No problem. Hoping to have them by this weekend, but next week at the latest. When I spoke to Josh about them last night, he said that they're an excellent option but that one of the collectors might barely touch the floorboard. We will see. I'll post pics as soon as I get them in.

They already sound like a better option than what I currently have, I would rather
the headers be closer to the floor board, instead of hanging so low.

I would guess that the headers would and will vary in shape and fitments
depending on each manufacture.

Looking forward to your updates.

Josh specifically mentioned the design of the Pacesetters fitting better than some of the others. We'll see.

Then why does he sell the other ones for the C3s that fit like crap?

Hey, don't shoot the messenger. I'm just telling you what he told me. I fully expect to have to break out the BFH to dimple a primary tube or two, but these are temporary and for $275, I'm good with it.

Certainly not blaming you. Just a little frustrated with these headers that don't fit at all. It would have been cheaper to have a custom set made after all the mods that are needed for these. Looking forward to the fit of these from you.

I do think when he said that about the Pacesetters fitting better than the other versions, he was referring to the other F-body headers and not to the other actual swap headers out there. I read where some have had pretty good luck with Kooks F-body headers as well.

Got back into town today, and took some pics. A lot of my ordered parts arrived, so I should be able to get a lot done over the long weekend.

Here's a shot of the F-body radiator and electric fans in place with my slightly modified stock radiator support. Everything lines up really, really well.

Another one, from the top.

I need to loosen the clamp on the lower hose, and rotate it a bit to get the hose to angle and line up a bit better, but I think I'm going to be able to use it as is. I also wanted to find a coupler to install in the upper hose to mount the stock temp sender in, but so far no luck...

Here's a shot of the space I'm looking at for the driver's side header.

Whether the F-body headers will fit easily or not is anybody's guess at this point. I'm going to be optimistic that I can make it fit.

Here's a shot of the Pacesetter F-body headers...

Let's see what happens.

Sounds like you will make some great progress this weekend.

I am really interested in those headers, What size primary tubes are those?

Comparing photo's with my modified headers, it looks like the headers will also clear the steering stem for the rack,

But I am questioning the passenger side, I wonder if the last down tube will hit the firewall?

Keep us posted.

They are 1 3/4 primaries with 3" collectors. I see what you mean on the passenger side. Hopefully I'll get these bad boys bolted up either today or tomorrow.

Nice build! I have converted to a T-56 and serpentine drive accessories so far but an LSx conversion is still my ultimate goal! Lots of good info here thanks!

Quil: Try 'jagsthatrun' for a coupling. They have a whole bunch of couplings and there ought to be something they have that works. they were real quick in getting some couplings to me by mail. Here's a link to start with

It is, but I don't see any of them that have a 1/2NPT fitting that would fit my stock temp sender...I think I may have found a solution at jagsthatrun, though.

I got a ton done today. Waiting for my camera battery to charge so I can post pics. The F-body headers are in. The collectors on both sides barely hit the floorboard and have to be flattened a touch, but otherwise they fit like a freaking glove.

Should have pics of todays progress up within the next half hour or so.
