I agree, tinkering is one of the small pleasures in life. If nothing else, i get to say i saved 50 bucks by finding the replacement bushings and getting the distributor cleaned up.

Well, i would say that but the bushings have not shown up yet.

I received the DG13 bushings from Advance Auto Parts today and they were the right ones for the advance weights. I cleaned up everything as best as I could and installed the old weights with the new bushings so now I can set my timing at 12˚ initial and a total mechanical advance of 36˚ all in at 2800 rpm. BUT.. my vacuum advance canister is giving me 24˚ of timing so I show 60˚ at 2800 with the vacuum hooked up. So now I need to go find an adjustable one or one that only gives me 16˚ of advance. yay.
