Default Convertible top stowage?

I'm hoping someone can help me out with some measurements...my car is completely stripped and the top is in storage. I'm planning to mount a battery box against the reap passenger compartment bulkhead (as shown in the pic). For reference, I've measured from rear decklid surrounds aft edge at the lower, inboard point. The battery box top is 5" below this point and it extends 5" forward (inboard) of this point.

Can I get someone to take a look at their convertible top while down and decklid closed...I need to see if the battery box will interfere.

Before all the 'what the hell are you doing' question fly in...the reason for this is because it's an SRIII project. The rear floor has been modified and there is very little space below the floor.

Thanks,
Rob

I can't measure as my car is in storage but from this archive pic I don't think you will have room for the top.

I'll be working on my vert today so I'll try and measure and take a pic at the same time.

How will the battery be accessed?
The box will need to be anchored so I'm guessing you plan to pull the battery straight up so even if the top doesn't cause you problems getting the battery up and out without hitting the deck lid may.

Paul, thank you for the picture. It does look like it's going to be close.

Fred, the battery is an Optima Red Top 34/78 so it's not very big...there is actually room to pull both the box lid and the battery out if mounted as depicted.

I may just run down, get the top and install it before I go much further. My plan was to have the batt box as shown in the pic and a powered sub on the right.

I't looks like if there is an interference issue, it will be due to height and not it's extension forward. Maybe I'll need to look for a shorter box?

Thanks to all, and if anyone has any other pics or suggestions, please don't hesitate to post.

r,
Rob
