Im trying to figure out where all of my vacuum hoses (carb connections) are suposed to go on my 73 L48. I have asked on here before and pointed to different diagrams (from dr rebuild/chilton etc) that conflict with each other. My question is this, are all of the ports on the carb the same or do some provide variable vacuum and others consistent. ...OR... if it is unknown which port is which could someone let me know which items require what type of vacuum and I can figure it out from there with a gage. (example, is vacuum advance suposed to be be high at idle and lower under throttle, or high under throttle and low at idle, etc.) I have to get this right.

If your carb is a '73 carb, all the fittings on the carb are direct manifold vacuum except the one fitting on the forward, driver's side of the carb in the middle of the float bowl: this fitting is ported vacuum, and should be hooked up to your distributor vacuum advance. All other fittings produce straight manifold vacuum and can functionally be used as you see fit.
