Max torque for an Automatic?
First off, great forum.
I recently purchased a 1980 L-82 locally. Bought the car right, pretty much assuming the worst with the engine, trans, floor pans etc. (car was outside without t-tops for a few years.) Body is near perfect, so I pretty much bought it for the shell. Ready to pull the trigger on a COMPLETE interior,including dash pad and new bezels. Gutted everything today,getting ready to yank engine and trans this week.
I really want to go with the 383 stroker, my target hp. is 400 to 420. Have any of you guys done this with the factory automatic? Any advice from you guys would be greatly appreciated.
