Default Windshield Wiper Motor Help

Good morning All. I have a '69 coupe that has starting having windshield wiper issues. They stopped working and upon further inspection I found that the power connections to the washer pump had broken off (the little plastic tab that the two wire power connection plugs into).

I was wondering if the wiper motor should continue to work if the washer pump is not getting power, or if they both have to be properly connected for the wiper motor to function?

If the wiper motor can work on it's own, what is the best way to test if it is working or totally fried?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Randy

Hi Randy,
The vendor in the column to the left named WILLCOX has a couple of good trouble shooting videos and instructions for the early wiper motors at his site.
Why don't you take a look to see if they're of any help for you.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

It will work without the pump if everything else is hooked up correctly.

Here's Willcox's bench test for the '69-'72
