Hey Brad,
when you get the Hurst set up, would you mind sending me the info on part numbers, where you got it and what you paid for it ?
Looks like I may go that route as well.
It appears to me the part number is 3910028 for the actual shifter, not sure about the linkage, etc.
Thanks.

I found it by using the search categories they have on their site:
drivetrain/shifters/shifter-install kit combos/chevrolet/corvette/your year model.
I'm going to try and snag a used setup from a forum member or ebay because that's pricey to me but it would take out the guess work and you know you'll have a new, solid shifter.
Hey guy's I'm doing a 4 speed swap as we speak. the cross member out of an automatic will not work. I have an 82 vet with a 700r4. i had to buy a 80-81 cross member and the shifter bracket to make it fit. I bought a m-20 Muncie to put in the car since i have a 3.08 rear end.

Reason: wrong parts for certain years
With your 3.08 rear gear and an L48 engine you'll want to get a trans with at least a 3.XX first gear.An ideal start off first gear ratio close to 10.Find a transmission that would work well with that 3.08 rear gear or you won't be happy with the performance and end up changing rear gears to get the performance you want a 1K expense. Then when you change rear gears your rpm's will be much higher in 4th gear,no OD.I have the same combo and went with a Richmond 6spd with a 3.28 first gear.Take offs are quick and the gear spreads are just about perfect and with a 6th gear OD my hiway rpm's are around 2k @ 65mph.If your going thru all the work of installing a 4 speed may as well do an OD trans.Sucks doing the same job twice! More expense at first but will cost you less in the long run and you'll have more !! Aloha's
