Default DeWitts Radiator is here...

any suggestions on getting it in my 1979 4sp alot easier than the stock one came out???? I have a lift off hood so overhead clearance is not a problem but getting it past the passenger control arm was/is....and at $500.00 I dont want to dent it! Thanks....

I recommend cutting two sheets of cardboard and covering both sides of the core surface. you can tape it on with masking tape and then slide the cardboard out when you are done. The best way to get the radiator in there is to remove the bolts inside the fender well that hold the core support in place. Swing the core support forward enough to drop the radiator in.

You can gain a little more clearance and avoid damaging the aluminum finish by removing the bolts and washers on the radiator side cross shaft. I replaced my original bolts and washer with fender washers and button head cap screws on the radiator side. Absolutely tape cardboard, or thin wood paneling on both sides on install.

It's a lot easier if you have 2 people lowering it down also.

What Tom said..Remove the core support bolts and rotate the top of the core support forward, drop Radiator in...

BTW, Tom, I mounted mine last week...Nice piece!
