I am rebuilding my heater system right now, and was wondering if I should replace the heater vacuum actuators while I'm at it. Currently, they are ok, but since they have 37 year old rubber in them, I'm a little skeptical of their remaining lifespan. What do you guys think?
Are you referring to the vacuum servos at the deflector doors? If so, they are very reliable and shouldn't be changed, unless they actually fail (rare).
Leave them in.
The replacement parts probably won't last as long as the remaining lifetime of the originals.

Excellent, that is what I was thinking, too. They all work very well and hold good vacuum. I'll paint them and put them back in.
What would you guys think about throwing them into my ultrasonic cleaner? Would that damage them? And should I treat them with some silicon or something before I put them back in?
