and only 180,000 miles on it....what a shame, just think of what you could do to a vette with the $9,000 that he put into that crx :nonod: ill never understand why people put that much money into a car like that. sure it might go fast, but what car wouldnt with that much money put into it. ill take a stock corvette over that anyday.
Some people think "Ooo, I have a slow car that I MADE fast!" while we think "Um, I own a CORVETTE" It is a Corvette for God's sake, it may be slower than their sleeper, but it still has the status that a Corvette brings, that and the 50 squad cars for going 31 in a 30.
The thing that the ricers don't understand is that I don't CARE if their rice burner is faster than my Corvette. They won't turn me to the darkside of rice- I will continue to drive my Corvette.

Amen. Lets see I had a CRX for a commuter car in Colleger, very nice dependable good gas mileage car. That's what I think of it, and that's all I could ever think of it. Great reliability and fuel econonmy...but very low on the  factor. Who cares if someone dumps a truck load of money into making a glorified weed eater faster than a vette. Speed isn't the only reason I love Corvettes...a lot has to do with the looks and feel.
There is always someone with a car faster than you have..that's a hopeless battle. Yes there are some ricers that are extremly fast (like the 9 sec Supras) but would I trade it for my old vette, HE** NO.
What really is funny, is they say "CORVETTE KILLER". Why not just say...Amazing a 12 sec Weedeater?. The name Corvette brings a lot of respect that's why plain and simple...go ask 100 people on the street, do you want this old nice vette or this 12 second lawn tool, and I bet the vote is quite staggering.
Sorry..to ramble...I just don't get the logic behind these comparisons.
Verskel and I were at a cruise in a few weeks back. Towards the end of a show a Ricer is parked behind me (I start my car breathing through side pipes, and he gets in and starts reving the Poulan). Verskel and I thought it would be great to fix up my weedeater with a Big Fart Can, a wing, and stickers...and bring it out to the next cruise in. Then when the guys fire up the lawn machines..we can join in the fun
back in my senior year in high school i had a 94 firebird formula (fastest car in the lot im proud to say even though there were lots of rich kids in my school) man i loved that car. one day after school as i was leaving and some kid in his civic started reving his fart pipe at me. the only thing me and my friends could to was laugh. the principal was outside monitoring the lot and even he started laughing. its funny what some people think is cool

Ah, god, it hurts to laugh that hard!
The owner of this "Corvette Killer" is the same kind of person I encounter daily. They are usually driving some rusted out land barge, or a sardine can, with duct tape holding everything together. As the light turns green, a huge cloud of smoke bellows out of their POS car, and they actually try to race me. I just laugh, and let them go. A rice car, or anything else similar, can be fixed up to go fast, but they will never have that awesome V-8 rumble that echoes from the twisty mountain roads to the coastal highways, as does a Corvette.
Corvettes, of any year, attract attention. Rice cars only attract attention if on fire!
How do you double the value of a rice burner? Put air in the tires!
I wonder why the timing chain is exposed on the dual overhead cams. That's going to introduce tons of crap into the engine. But he doesn't seem to car becuase it runs low 12's. hahahah
