TIP: purchase the assembly instruction manual (AIM) and follow the diagrams. There are several pages in the AIM showing dash installation, carpet, seats, wiring, console, e-brake, seat belts, and the under dash braces. etc.

Hi r67,
I second Mike about having the 71 AIM in front of you.
I also think it would be good to buy a complete interior fastener kit for a 71, and also a large assortment of j-clips and u-clips.
I REALLY wouldn't even begin without the AIM!
Regards,
Alan

If your planning on doing resto in rear compartment, I would start there first THEN start working on Dash area using AIM as a guide.
