I meant the o-rings that typically seal these lever style systems usually have a bit of creamy grease on them when new. The o-rings wear flat on one side when the grease "dries out" preventing a usable vacum seal. I'm just hoping someone who reads this can give me a name of a company that has them in stock.

These cars don't use O-rings in the heater control. There is a rubber gasket with a bunch of vacuum passages moulded into it. I put a brand new heater control assembly in my '79 and the vacuum valve didn't work. I eventually installed my old vaccum selector in the new control assembly. I was later informed that a fix for vacuum valves that don't work is to put a drop of heavy (80 or 90 weight) oil in the valve to help it seal. The replacement valves are easy to disassemble, so I would take it apart to oil it. The vacuum valve is readily available from just about everyone who sells Corvette parts, but be aware that you may have to fool around with it to get it to work. Test it before you reassemble the console. (Ask me how I know this is a good idea. )
