Is there anyway to make or find a heat shield for the speedometer cable. I have one on my 79 that is really close to exghuast and has really paid it's toll...it still works but I'm going to replace it and wondered if anyone else has ever experienced this...it's a manual tranny as well.

I use Nomex heat shield tubing for wire bundles around my fuel line that runs along the frame above the Hooker headers and on the line coming up to the carb from the fuel pump. If you only need it in a short area maybe use spark plug wire heat shields.

get a longer one.....seriously they have different lengths for auto trans i wonder if they would work? i bet its the same internal cable
