I have the replacement electric board for the tach, how do I repalce it? Can I get to it without pulling the dash or is the dash coming out my only option?

Your only option is dash removal. It wasn't until 78 when Corvette changed the configuration to permit board access from the tach/speedo cluster.

Wilcox (CF sponsor) offers some comprehensive instructions for 75-77 owners who wish to tackle this. I did my 78...but than it was a calkwalk coompared to your task. Once you get it installed, be prepared to start the car and check performance before re-assembling the entire dash. May save yourself some headaches.

PS...if the board you have to install is lacking specific instructions...let us know or drop me an email. You may also wish to explore past discussion threads on the topic to ensure its installed correctly and without incident. You don't wont' to have to tear into that dash again.

I did a search and didnt find any threads. I bought the Wilcox board so I will check their site for a tech article.

Thanks for the heads up on testing before assembly.

You're in good shape than.

Many vendors get their boards made overseas and there have been installation problems in the past. Not sure if that's still the case but Wilcox has his made and assembled here...its a "made in USA" service replacement part.

Wilcox...do you make these for other GM brands?

Wilcox, thanks for the videos, never would have thought to zero her out.

Hunt, good to know about the parts.

Tom-

The only other bridge we crossed with this was the board for the 1975-1986 chevy trucks. We made a few, advertised them, offered them to truck vendors and no one bit. There is not a manufacture of that board anywhere its that the production of the trucks with a tach was such a low production. I'm told our board will fit a Nova with some mods but I've not ventured there yet.

As long as I'm verticle and breathing our boards will be made here in the USA.
