Default 1971 headlight assembly question

Can anybody tell me what the part is at the top of the arm? I think it`s a switch, but I`m not sure.... and if it is, what is it for? I`m going to need to order them in the next batch of parts so I can get my headlights back together! Thanks!

That's one of the two switches that turn off the headlight warning lamp on the dash.

Hi ogto,
The flat rectangular 'plate' that's at the very bottom of your picture is what pushes the round button on the switch to turn it on and off.
The switch is plastic and pretty fragile so be careful with it.
Regards,
Alan

OK, thanks Alan! I`m going to replace them both, the one in the picture is the best of the two! The other is broken off.
