Is this clutch toast ?
Been behind some pretty powerful motors over the years, I's been so long I know it's a CenterForce but 1 or 2 I don't remember it has the centrifugal weights

It doesn't quite go in the "toast" category, but it does have some wear. The radial lines in photo 1 are pretty pronounced when the disc is new, and you're down to almost no radial lines towards the outer diameter of the disc. Looks like you've used the disc to its limits.. Unless you're really desperate, I wouldn't put that one back in the car again. Looks lke it has held up well, and there's no evidence of slippage or burning, so it's probably a good match for the engine & car.
I've started using the McLeod Twindisc (RST) systems on my higher torque engines, and it's a really sweet setup if you can get past the pricetag.
Hi MH,
Lars makes logical points and I also agree. In the second picture, the pressure plate-side material is almost worn to the level of the top of the rivet(s) and is the primary reason why that disc can be retired.
It's evident that the clamping force of the pressure plate is tightest at the outside edge of the disc as it engages and locks up. That's what the weights on the pp fingers promote (a good thing).
I agree that you got your nickel's worth out of that disc.

Yes we did, don't slip the clutch or let it slip, I make sure when I engage the clutch it is engaged. Would you believe this clutch has been on my 300rwhp 355ci, 420 rwhp 406ci and still holds my 600hp 427 but you guys are right, it is done, I can see some copper threads on the backside I think it is close to 10 years old and I am buying the same clutch again.
I am buying drag radials and I am going to see what number this car can put down, I got my monies worth on the paint. I know it's going home on a trailer

That is the funniest thing I have read in awhile! I love it! Make sure you post pics of the carnage Wayne!
That's exactly what I was thinking. Wayne, what kind of rear end do you have? Your motor is so powerful it might blow chunks of ring gear clear across the Canadian border if you hook up real well, LOL! Be careful man and post some time slips when you are done.
Hey Wayne, let me know when and where and the wife and I might fly up there and watch you run, I might have the car done by then. New disc for sure, you don't want to pull that apart anytime soon.
