OK had it running ok still rough idle so i figured what the heck i will change wires, cap , button and plugs. WHile under car on passenger side i cleaned the ground connection from the block to the frame also nothing else. Got it all done fired it up and it was throwing codes . Threw 4 codes cant remember them now so i figured i would reset the ecm and disconnected the battery, now it only throws 1 code 33 and will die at an idle.
I have researched the code and found very little information on troubleshooting and testing of the MAP. Can anyone enlighten me ?
Unless you knocked off some wire or vacuum line while working on the car, it is probably the wires you selected. The local auto stores will sell you anything that their computer/book shows will fit. But, that doesn't mean that it will work!
Check several things, first is to check the vacuum hose to the manifold pressure (MAP) sensor on the fire wall. 2 make sure the plug wires are on the correct plug, the #5&7 are easily crossed.3 check manifold top cover, the top gasket is prone to leaks especially after a back fire. 4 check the throttle position sensor it should be set to .525 V @ idle position. Do you have the GM Factory shop manual? indispensable when trouble shooting the CF system. Don't hesitate to ask questions there is a lot of info on these forums.
