Default Exhaust installation - need advice

Ok, on the driver side I use the donut and sleeve as picture 1.
But on pass. side there used to be the heat riser. Now I have a spacer, see pic 2, but installation is the same. It just goes against the pipe without gasket.
Seems to me that it will leak?? Should I use some sealer in between?

I cannot use the donut and sleeve on passenger side since there is no recess (for the sleeve) on the pass side manifold like on the other side, right?

Looks OK to me. I think thats the way the heat riser would mate up. There is a enough of a seal between the two tapered surfaces.

While everything is apart and "on the bench", make sure the pipe mates just so with your spacer. You may need to use a small ball peen hammer and tap it carefully here and there, to make it fit..
