Default ignition shield

got a ignition shield kit for my 71 BB from corvette central. it did not come with diagram or instruction. I have an AIM manual but did not find information in it. Can anyone supply me with diagram and/or instruction on where the parts all go/attach? Thank, Ed

Ed, this may or may not be of any help. If not, do a google search and you should be able to find one.

Hi Ed,
The shield information is in the AIM in the Radio Option pages because only cars with radios got the shielding.
UPC U69, Sheets A5 & A6
Regards,
Alan

There's not much to the shielding for the BB
The two standups mount to the intake
the rubber plugs with the 4 sprk-plug holes go into the slots
If you have the wires with the braided sleeves, they ground to the studs on the top.
Then the top shield goes on and is held by the two wingnuts
Here's a couple of pics of the standups with wires
(My top shield is off since I was working on the rats-nest in front of the distributor)

Got it in! Thanks to everyone's help :+)). It is a tight fit over wires etc. but looks good. I think corvette central could have done a better job on chrome finish as there are light scratches and does not look like heavy chrome, but maybe that is the way it should be as I know some original parts had this 'light' chrome finish. I will check out and see if it helps the radio..Thanks again, Ed
