I'm restoring a 77 and found the tach isn't working. I'm going to replace the condenser on the distributor and know where one end plugs into the side of the distrubutor, but when I got the car the other end of the condenser wire wasn't hooked up. How can I find out where the connector is to hook it up? Thanks...
The tach filter is not merely a condenser. There are two resistors and two capacitors in that little 'can' mounted to the intake manifold. And it needs to be in place for the tach to read accurately.....as also with the printed circuit board.
Thanks for the replies, but what I need to know is where I find the conenctor that the wire from the condensor goes to.... I know one end plugs into the connector on the distributor but how do I locate /where do I look for the connector that plugs into the other end? where should the wiring harness be located that contains the wire? Thanks.
